Gary Spaulding of South Bend serenades traffic at the corner of Michigan Street and Ireland Road on Easter Sunday. Using a cross as a prop, Spaulding spreads the Word on Easter by playing “The Old Rugged Cross.”1
- The song “The Old Rugged Cross” is well-known and dear to Christians throughout the world. It was sung in public for the first time at a Church gathering at the Pokagon Church building in Pokagon, Michigan near my birth town of Niles. Unfortunately, I don’t know the date of that historic gathering. A memorial has been erected at the site and the original Tabernacle is still standing. [↩]
